64-Slice CT Scan

State-of-the-art, 64-slice CT technology allows for improved image quality and speed.  Computed tomography (CT) uses x-rays to take pictures of sections of the body. CT scans help find abnormalities in the body, which may indicate disease, determine how far a disease has spread, and show the effects of treatment.

Breast Biopsy

A breast biopsy is usually conducted to check a lump found during a breast exam.The biopsy removes a sample of breast tissue that is then examined by a pathologist under a microscope to check for breast cancer.

Calcium Heart CT Scan

Get a Calcium Scan done to understand your future risk of having a heart attack or stroke. Coronary artery calcium (CAC) scoring, also called a coronary calcium scan, is a test that measures the amount of calcium in the walls of the heart’s arteries.

Early detection of atherosclerosis, the buildup of plaque in and on artery walls, could save lives. Plaque that builds up in blood vessels can eventually burst and cause blood clots, leading to a heart attack or stroke. The greater the coronary calcium score, the larger the amount of plaque is in the artery wall, and the greater the risk of a heart attack. Every person with a moderate risk of heart disease can benefit from a heart CT scan. The calcium score is thus a good predictor of a heart attack, giving your doctor valuable information to factor into your plan of care.

DEXA Bone Scan

A bone mineral density (BMD) test measures the mineral density in your bones using a special X-ray, CT scan, or ultrasound. A DEXA bone scan provides an estimate of the strength of your bones. DEXA uses two different X-ray beams to estimate bone density in your spine and hip.

Fluoroscopy

Fluoroscopy is a test that uses a steady beam of X-rays to look at parts of the body and movement within the body.

Mammogram

Recommended for women ages 40+ to schedule annually, a mammogram is an X-ray image of your breast used to screen for breast cancer. Mammograms play a vital role in early breast cancer detection and help minimize deaths with faster treatment.

MRI

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) uses magnetic fields and radio frequencies to produce detailed pictures of organs, soft tissues and bones. Unlike X-rays, an MRI does not use radiation. The MRI can be performed on an outpatient basis or as part of inpatient care at one of our state-of-the-art imaging centers. It typically takes 30 to 40 minutes and can be done with or without contrast.

Nuclear Medicine

Nuclear medicine is a specialized area of radiology that uses very small amounts of radioactive materials, or radiopharmaceuticals, to examine organ function and structure.

Ultrasound

Ultrasounds use high-frequency sound waves to capture images of organs in the body to help diagnose a range of conditions and monitor bodily functions. Ultrasound procedures are painless and usually last 20 minutes to an hour.

X-ray, also called radiography, is the most common form of medical imaging. An X-ray machine sends particles through your body, and images are recorded on a computer or film.
