Job Description:

Summary: A Unit Nurse Manager, or Nurse Supervisor, is in charge of overseeing a team of nurses and aides as they provide healthcare services to patients and manage their records. Their duties include training, scheduling and mentoring staff, managing and consulting on patient treatment plans.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Create goals and objectives for their unit and make sure they are met by the staff
  2. Communicate with unit staff and department heads
  3. Keep and organize records of the particular facility
  4. Create work schedules for nurses
  5. Ensure the facility they work in is compliant with current laws
  6. Improve the quality and efficiency of the level of care delivered to patients
  7. Do your best to solve any problems patients might have at the facility

Job Qualifications:

  1. Graduation from an accredited nursing school and a current, valid RN license or registration in the state of Texas.
  2. Nursing experience in a long-term care facility is preferred.
  3. Supervisory experience is preferred.
  4. Effective communication and interpersonal skills are necessary.
  5. Functional literacy in English is required.
