About James Townson Jr, DPM, D.ABFAS, FACFAS
Dr. James Townson Jr., DPM, D.ABFAS, FACFAS, is a podiatric surgery specialist serving Central Texas with over 10 years of experience in the medical field.
Born and raised in Whitney, Texas, Dr. Townson received his undergraduate degree in biomedical science from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. He went on to attend Samuel Merritt University in the San Francisco Bay Area, where he earned his doctorate in podiatric medicine and graduated cum laude as a member of the Pi Delta Honor Society. Dr. Townson completed his foot and ankle reconstructive surgical residency at the Raymond G. Murphy VA Medical Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and has practiced since 2015.
Dr. Townson is board certified in reconstructive rearfoot/ankle surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. He’s also a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgery and a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association and Texas Podiatric Medical Association.
Dr. Townson strives to ensure all his patients receive efficient and effective care. He believes surgery isn’t always the answer and wants each patient to fully understand all available treatment options.
He currently practices at Coryell Health’s Gatesville, Mills County and Temple locations, and Clifton’s Goodall-Witcher Clinic. Dr. Townson is accepting new patients.
