RehabLiving Short-term Rehabilitation

With a one-on-one, personalized, rigorous rehabilitation and a physician-led approach, we are dedicated to helping patients achieve the best, most successful recovery in the shortest time possible. Our services include, but are not limited to physical, occupational, and speech therapy.

Physical Therapy

Through proper evaluation and treatment, physical therapy can minimize pain and disability and maximize functional potential. Physical therapy adds to a patient’s strength, mobility and fitness. Some physical therapy goals include decreasing pain in joints while improving mobility, strength, endurance, balance, and range of motion.

Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy shortens recovery time, improves function, and helps people become self-sufficient. Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention reduces the risk of a fall in elderly patients. Occupational therapy retrains patients in the activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating.

Speech Therapy

Speech Therapy offers comprehensive evaluation and treatment for individuals who have developed speech, swallowing, or cognitive problems following an injury or illness. Some benefits of speech therapy include facilitating functional communication skills, safe oral feeding and swallowing, alternative communication methods, and educating patients and families on compensatory strategies.

Short-term Rehabilitation Success Factors

A multidisciplinary rehab team is needed to provide comprehensive rehabilitation services. The team is typically led by a physician and includes physical, occupational and speech therapists, pain management specialists, rehabilitation nursing staff, social workers, among others, according to the needs of the patient.

Intensive daily rehabilitation therapy is another important part of your recovery. For therapy to be intensive, this requires that a patient is working with a therapist for five days or more each week for a minimum of three hours per day. Goals will be reevaluated to ensure progress is made.

Patient-centered treatment means that your needs are met and individual goals are considered in your treatment plan. This may also mean involving family members or friends who are providing you with support.

State-of-the-art rehabilitation equipment is another crucial part of your recovery, along with qualified staff members that can aid and supervise patients as they work toward their recovery goals.

Travel to medical appointments means our staff members will escort patients to and from appointments with medical providers or for diagnostic testing. They remain with them to help them communicate their needs and any issues they may be having to the medical staff. Transportation is also provided to medical appointments off campus.
