About Peter Bealka, MD

Dr. Peter Bealka is a native of Central Texas. He graduated Valedictorian from Midway High School in Waco, TX where he also served as the football team captain. He then attended Baylor University, graduating summa cum laude and was designated as the “Highest Ranking Man” in the Hankamer School of Business. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a concentration in finance. He was actively involved on Baylor campus through both local and national Greek life leadership positions as well as various leadership roles in the pre medical and campus community.

Dr. Bealka earned his medical degree at Texas A&M College of Medicine where he graduated at the top of his class. He was elected as a junior member of the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society and was chosen as a recipient of the prestigious Baylor Scott & White medical student scholarship during his third year of medical school. Subsequently, Dr. Bealka completed his internship at the University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical Center followed by his ophthalmology residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, the largest and one of the busiest training programs in the country. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and Texas Ophthalmologic Association.

Dr. Bealka specializes in cataract surgery, including laser assisted cataract surgery and advanced technology, premium intraocular lenses. He also specializes in glaucoma treatment using laser and minimally invasive glaucoma surgeries (MIGS) as well as surgery to remove excess upper eyelid skin (blepharoplasty).

Dr. Bealka is excited to be serving his Central Texas home through excellent patient care. In his free time, he loves to travel, support Baylor athletics, hike, and spend time with his wife, Stephanie (also a native of Waco, TX) and their dog, Knox.
