About David Gochnour, MD, FACS, FASMBS

Dr. David Gochnour, is a graduate of Texas A&M with a bachelor’s degree in biomedical science, followed by medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. He completed his residency in General Surgery at UTHSC.  He went on for specialty fellowship training in Minimally Invasive Surgery, robotics and Bariatric surgery at UTHSC, Memorial Hermann Hospital, Texas Medical Center. Dr. Gochnour is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. He participates on committees of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons and is State Faculty for the American College of Surgeons Advanced Trauma Life Support program. While serving our country in the Army as a combat medic/EMT, Dr. Gochnour felt his calling into medicine. He chose his specialty training in surgery because of the satisfaction of witnessing patients having their lives changed after surgery. Dr. Gochnour enjoys ranching and spending time with family and friends. Locally he is involved in his church, and the county fair livestock committee.
